Otis Spunkmeyer?

I have been getting lots of compliments on my cookies recently and just typed up the recipe to email to someone, so I thought I might as well copy and paste here! This is my mom's standard cookie recipe. Ryan LOVES them when they're raisin (not choc. chip). One time our friend came over and I had to take Riley somewhere for a few minutes. When I got home I noticed that someone had eaten a few cookies and I asked Ryan if Jordan liked them. He said that Jordan was raving about them and Ryan told him he thought they were a pre-made Otis Spunkmeyer cookie dough! Excuse me?! (We had bought some dough for our babysitter's soccer team fundraiser, yada-yada...) I guess it was a compliment. :)

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Cream the following:
1 C margarine or butter (softened)
1 C brown sugar
1 C white sugar
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla

Add:
2 C + a little flour
1 t. salt
1 t. baking powder
1 t. baking soda
2 C + a little oatmeal (I use quick oats for cookies)
1 C raisins, chocolate chips, m&ms, whatever you want!

Refrigerate! (I usually put it in for at least 20 mins.) Bake at 350 for 10 minutes (no more!). Cool on wire rack for best results.

Yield: about 4 dozen cookies

Nothing fancy, but very yummy!

  1. oh, you have no idea how good homemade cookies sound right now! YUM. i've wanted to make cookies, but i don't have anyone to give them away to... because as you know - you can't keep all 4 dozens at home or we'd be sick to our stomachs! :o)

these look tasty and simple enough. hilarious that ryan thought they were premade. and i don't know why i had to read it twice to see that ryan loves the raisin cookies!
